New Items and Kits for Mother's Day!Tina restocked the Fyberspates Gleem, Teresa Ruch 3/2, and Fyberspates Vivacious 4-Ply. We have some lovely new colors too! Tina used the Gleem in her Cadfael Shawl for the #blacksheepcrafttime Craft-A-Long. Kelli thinks she might need some Vivacious to design a new pattern. Plus you can pre-order Handmaiden in any of their colors and we will have it shipped directly from Handmaiden to you.
We ordered some new Kiriki sampler kits and adorable pendant kits. Kelli has been stitching on the Honeybee Sampler and really enjoying it. The Kiriki kits come with pattern, floss, and pre-printed cloth so you can start right away! Make sure to pick up some John James needles and you are ready to go!
Then we came up with the classic Rosita Shawl kit for Mother's Day. This Shetland pattern inspired piece is a 3/4 octagon so it sits nicely around your shoulders. With the springy PCC yarn, the lace pattern pops. We even included some stitch markers to make it easy to keep track of your pattern.

My husband asked if I could make these cookies that remind him of home, so I made an attempt and they came out pretty tasty! I made a few adjustments to the recipe, but try these for a fun taste of India.
1 cup all-purpose flour (125 g)
¼ cup gram flour (besan) (40 g)
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons cream of wheat(fine rava or sooji) (20 g)
2 to 3 pinches powdered or grated nutmeg or 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg powder
½ teaspoon cardamom powder
½ cup butter at room temperature, 80 grams
2/3 cup powdered sugar or icing sugar
½ tablespoon yogurt
1 to 2 tablespoon milk
Plain whole almonds for toppers
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F or 180 C. Cream the powdered sugar and butter until it is light, smooth, and creamy.
Sift the following dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, besan (gram flour), baking powder, and baking soda. Set the dry ingredients aside. Add the yogurt to the butter mixture and mix well. Next add the sifted dry ingredients, cream of wheat, cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder. Mix until just combined and the dough is smooth. If the mixture is too crumbly and will not smooth, then add 1 to 3 tbsp of milk and mix just until smooth.
Pinch medium sized balls (think golf ball sized) from the dough. Roll them evenly in your palms, then slightly flatten them as you lay them on the baking sheet. Leave a generous space around each cookie (2.5 inches at least) as they spread while baking. Press an almond in the middle of the top. You can also make some criss-cross designs on the nankhatai with a fork or toothpick.
Bake for 20-25 mins till light golden. Move to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container as the cookies absorb moisture easily.
